When Caleb saw me, he quickly let go of his tense expression.
He approached, a tired but gentle smile on his face. “Honey, your warning paid off. The murderer’s been caught, and I’m perfectly fine.”
Then, he turned around playfully in front of me.
I didn’t truly relax until I saw with my own eyes that Caleb was unharmed, letting out a deep sigh of relief.
But the thought of the murderer brought back vivid images of the crime scenes and rekindled the suspicions that had been gnawing at me.
